My Story

born in Shahrivar 1370 (August 1991).

I earned my degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences in Iran and completed a postgraduate program in Management at the University of Nicosia, Cyprus. Growing up in a family with a sporty father, an artistic mother, and a brilliant brother, greatly influenced my life. I had a career as a professional football goalkeeper for renowned teams while also accompanying my mother to various art galleries and exhibitions. This exposure to the art world sparked a deep passion in me, eventually leading me to discover my true calling. Since 2015, I've been professionally involved in sculpture, using the papier-mâché technique, which involves molding paper and has a rich history, with some tracing its origins back to ancient France and others to ancient China.

Lately, many individuals with diverse skills have ventured into this art form. While the fundamental components of these creations typically involve paper and paper pulp, I take an innovative approach by blending various materials to form the primary building blocks. I firmly believe that art can emerge from anything and breathe new life into the most unexpected sources.

I vividly recall my initial piece, "Aflame," which I constructed using a partially burnt piece of wood as its framework. This experience illuminated for me that art knows no boundaries. I hold a deep appreciation for our planet, our only habitable home, and I attempt to convey my gratitude through my artistic endeavors. As a result, I've crafted numerous artworks, each imbued with its unique character, making them one-of-a-kind creations.

Arash Paya, through participation in various domestic and international exhibitions, has successfully obtained prestigious certifications from both local and international institutions. Undoubtedly, an artist’s craft is reflected in the connection they establish with their audience, and certifications merely serve as a testament to their presence in international events.

Each of these works holds the essence of a period of my life. Days I pour my heart into them, sharing my secrets with them every day. Their journey to a new physical location is akin to entering a new world, and I'm delighted that each of my creations finds its place in this boundless existence. I also prepare a painting for each of them as a keepsake, which remains with me, and every time I see them, their spirits come alive in my workshop again.
